Is It Truly Possible To Make Money From the Comfort of Your Own Home?

From 1948 up until 2010, the country's unemployment rate averaged approximately 5.70%. The unemployment rate for January 2011 averaged 9%. Clearly, in today's economy, we all want to find ways to make some money. And with limited "decent" jobs out there, many of us want to find a way to make money from home.
Or maybe you have a decent job. Maybe you're just looking for a way to make some extra cash. Perhaps you're a stay-at-home mom, looking for some extra spending money of your own.
Whatever the case may be, the bottom line is: How do I make money from home?
Let's examine a few ways we could possibly make money online.
  • eBay - Many people shop on eBay. One thing that can be said of a repressed economy is that when people are making purchases - they are more cautious about it. They shop more thriftily. eBay is known as a site to find good deals. Therefore, millions of people are using eBay, searching it for good buys. That's where you can cash in. You can choose to find a wholesaler and sell their products online. Others do their own thrift shopping, and then sell products in bulk on eBay, finding good success with this.
  • Facebook - It seems that almost EVERYONE is on Facebook! As such a popular networking tool, many businesses are jumping on the chance to promote their service with their own Facebook page. You will want to have your specific niche or brand established when creating your page. Be-"friend" people with like-interests. You can even link your Facebook page to other sites outside of facebook, such as affiliate sites, if that's what you're promoting. Facebook also offers, at cost, to promote your page within their site.
  • Clickbank - Clickbank.com is free for you to join. There are many categories in which to find something you'd wish to promote. When you register, you choose your own clickbank id. There are many things to choose to promote - from dating sites to dieting secrets to information on how to make money online! When you decide what you want to promote, you're supplied with an affiliate link, which contains your clickbank id, known as a hoplink. Then you promote that affiliate link by means of blogs, facebook, pay per click advertising, etc. You're paid a commission for each sale that's made through your affiliate link. You can also promote your own product or service through clickbank by getting other clickbank affiliates to promote it. If done right, this could be a good way to make money.
  • Blogging - Blogging can be a difficult avenue to make money. It takes a lot of time and if you don't have the desire to do it or the passion on the subject you're discussing, you will not find success. You need to constantly be updating your blog. And it needs to be on information, not only that you love and have some area of expertise in, but also that is very relevant for people. It must have information many would find valuable and of use. Once you get your blog established, with regular, daily posts and a good following, you can get advertisements placed on your site that you can make a commission off of when your readers click on them and make a purchase. Of course, this will take a lot of time to build up to that point.
Yes - there are ways to make money online. But the majority will take quite a bit of effort. It's something that you will need to work at. One thing I've discovered in all of this is: If it sounds too good to be true - it most likely IS too good to be true. Everything takes work, no matter what they say. But once you get going, build some momentum, get established - you're well on your way to finding success from working at home.
